The challenge

Employee surveys have shown that the Eneco team is striving for a good work-life balance. In an organization with ambitious goals, this can sometimes be a challenge. Therefore, Eneco is committed to supporting employees in recharging throughout the day, providing focus, and offering the right tools to create a balance between performance and recovery. This way, Eneco remains not only a leader in the transition to sustainable energy but also in promoting the well-being, energy, and performance of its employees.

The solution

Eneco discovered Onewave through an article in the FD. The concept of a data-driven well-being program, utilizing wearables from top sports, immediately appealed to their HR director. The collaboration began shortly thereafter by involving the vitality manager and initiating a pilot within the HR team. This approach enabled the HR team to act as ambassadors and accurately assess how the program could fit within the business units.

The experiences were positive and piqued curiosity within the organization. Slowly but surely, the program spread throughout the organization, with team leaders and employees collectively experiencing the benefits of a healthier work environment.

It wasn’t long before Eneco concluded that the power of the program is further enhanced when participating in teams or even entire departments. This not only boosts individual performance but also strengthens collective energy and improves the way of working (together) within teams. The program grew into what it is today: a valuable addition to the Eneco work environment, where well-being, enhanced energy, and improved team performance go hand in hand.

The result

Results

Today, the Onewave program is still very much alive within Eneco’s work culture, making an increasing impact on individual, team, and departmental levels. It is an integral part of the well-being strategy.

In total, more than 200 employees have participated in the Onewave program. 94% of the participants report having received concrete tools to improve their energy levels, and Eneco employees highly appreciate the program. All participants (100%) would recommend it to others.

By welcoming a new group of participants each quarter, the program’s impact spreads throughout the organization. Currently, 3 to 4 departments are intensively involved, with the impact being clearly felt on both individual and team levels.
