The Dutch Gambling Authority (KSA) is the regulatory body overseeing gambling activities, ensuring compliance and integrity in the Dutch (online) market. With the rise of online gambling, the KSA increasingly focuses on the use of data and the promotion of innovation, which brings both opportunities and pressure for their employees.

The challenge

The primary goal of KSA is to support their employees in maintaining a healthy energy level, not only at work but also at home. The Authority wants to offer its employees a program that meets the unique needs of each individual while simultaneously fostering a collective culture of resilience and self-care.

The solution

Five years ago, we joined forces. At the kickoff of our collaboration, no less than 70% of all employees signed up for our program. The in-depth program, featuring group sessions, individual coaching, energy measurements, and advice for the management team, quickly appealed to the entire team. Even those who were initially skeptical signed up later after seeing the positive changes in their colleagues.

The Onewave program was conducted in groups of 10-15 participants, each with two energy measurements and two corresponding feedback sessions. Before starting a new group, we organized a joint workshop. After the energy measurements and feedback sessions, the program concluded with a workshop on applying the insights in the workplace and how to support each other.

The result

Results

More and more employees are experiencing lasting benefits from the Onewave program. Employees not only handle stress better but also discover many new ways to recharge both at work and outside of it. As a result, energy levels are higher, leading to increased job satisfaction.

In addition to personal growth, the program also fosters a strong team spirit within the Netherlands Gambling Authority. Stress becomes a topic of conversation, creating a health-focused culture where colleagues support each other. This, in turn, contributes to better performance and higher engagement!

In preparation for the program, we asked employees several questions to compare the results afterward. Of the group of participants who completed the entire program, 39% previously experienced stress, which decreased to 28% after the program. Regarding overall health scores, 46% of participants rated their health positively before the program, which increased to 52% afterward.

What may have initially been seen as “just a nice intervention” is now regarded as a valuable gift from their employer. This increases employee engagement and enhances the appreciation for the Netherlands Gambling Authority as an employer, ultimately creating a win-win situation for both employees and the organization.
